In an ambiguous face the vertices signs are alternated. Observe that, in this configurationthe signs of the face vertices information are insufficient to determine the behavior of theinterpolant on the face. Similar to the face ambiguity, in an interior ambiguity the signs of the cube vertices are insufficient to determine the behavior of theinterpolant in the cube interior. In the Figure we show the two possible behavior of the interpolant in the interior of the cube for the case 4.
